Poem for September: The Pasture by Robert Frost. (Recite on 9/27). We will practice this poem daily in class. Please help us by practicing it for one minute each night.

Meaning: Never Give Up! We will

Grammar/
Writing: We will read and write about
narrations from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis
Carrol.
Spalding: Since there is no school on Monday, we will learn
just 10 new words this week. On Thursday, we will review all 10 words. On
Friday, we will have a test on all 10 words and 10 phonograms.

we will begin our first novel Owl at Home! Please ensure that your child
brings their book to school on Tuesday, September 17th. Thank you!
Math: This week we will begin subtraction. We will focus on identifying the whole (the
larger number) and finding the missing part!
Students may need some support as they switch gears from addition.
Science: Our habitat
exploration will continue with saltwater and freshwater habitats, comparing
their similarities and differences. We will explore the underwater life that
lives in both of these fascinating habitats.
History: This week our
scholars will continue learning about the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia.
They will learn how Mesopotamians viewed their gods, the importance of temples,
and hear the myth of Gilgamesh.
